Exit Interview with CIHC Library’s Daniel Hooker

    May 19th, 2010

    Daniel Hooker

One of the many pleasures of working with the CIHC Team has been getting to know and work with the masterful Daniel Hooker of the CIHC Library.

Dan’s work included managerial and curatorial responsibility for the CIHC Library, a national repository of materials dedicated to interprofessional education, collaborative practice and patient-centred care.

He really helped take the CIHC Library to the next level and we’re grateful for all of his hard work.

Please check out this audio interview with Daniel that I conducted a few weeks ago. It’s a great piece that is full of information on the CIHC Library, Dan’s work and ideas, and much more.

Physician Assistants – Controversy & Collaboration

    August 18th, 2009

Ontario is running a pilot project to see if physician assistants might help alleviate some of the pressures on physicians and nurses within the healthcare system.  A number of the new PAs are working on interprofessional teams.  The Toronto Star recently ran an article on the pluses and minuses of adding this new profession.   Read the article here http://www.thestar.com/living/article/682414

What do you think?  Are we ready to add this new profession?   Is it realistic that other professions are worrying about protecting their scope of practice?  Is there room for everyone to collaborate?
